Does any one know where I can get a fresh air intake hose that is either original copy or close to the original. I've looked in LMC and JC whitney and the usual part stores all have a generic corregated plastic thing that has wire reinforcment. Any ideas out there??

jegs has them

oops

Yeah, I guess the year and engine would help. It's an original 79 with a 400. I'll try jegs and thanks for the other creative sujjestions fellas.

I'm looking for one for my 75 with 350 too. I think 1975 was the first year of the fresh air intake. Mine has the wide intake air cleaner and the plastic inlet mounted on the passenger side of the radiator support.

Did you look at LMC truck? They have two different ones so you need to figure out which you need. Part # 38-4358 and 38-4359

Well, several months later, i finally addressed this and bought a new cold air intake hose. It's a repro, but damn i'm impressed with how precisely it fit. Looks good and fills out the engine bay. Now i'm able to feed the carb with cool air. Next item on the list, figure out where to get a replacement manifold heat stove and get a hot air tube for the air cleaner. I think the actual air cleaner thermac and vacuum motor work. At least they appear to. When hooked to a vacuum source the flapper opens when I hit the gas.

If you find the heat stove shield, let me know. Couldn't find one, so this is my fix, had to do it for smog:
