what would you do with a 200hp lycoming airplane engine????

What he said.

A flat four Lycoming doesn't spin very fast. Not a great wheeled motor.

funny guys,i actually had thought about doing some sort of rat rod with it,be alot of work though, probably going to sell it,i have no use for it

Pretty slow revving for that. It's meant to spin a 6' or so prop and be air cooled. Not condusive to a car.

exactly, what got my attention was the torque ratings these things have, and then trying to keep it cool is an issue too,it has been done, but they dont make great drivers, more of a novelty

I would put that thing on a post in the back yard with a prop on it. When the neighbors get loud, fire it up.

Probably be a good tractor engine...or a go kart ,atv,etc...being a low RPM engine its probably a long stroked high torque one...air cooled would be a plus on an off road vehicle or tractor..

I had 2 flat head fords that were built as wind generators for Orange groves in Southern California. The deal with the grove owner was, I restore one for him to give to a farm museum and I keep the other one.

Got them both done. Ran great. Put one on a post, the grove owner came over to see it and the donated one. He took both back at a nice profit to me. It ended up in his front yard.

Now you're talkin my language. What would I do with an IO-360? I would either stick it on the front of my little Cessna and go like a rocket or sell it and build one bad ass aluminum block big block Chevy for the K5. If that is a complete running IO-360 it is worth $15,000.00+. Can I have it? I will take you for a ride. Hell, I'll even let you fly it!!

You know more about it than I do,it is complete, but is due for a annual, and I have the log book for this engine as well, dad gave about 4500 for it about 8 years ago, when he passed I inherited this engine, most of the stuff he left I know what to do with or can use, this airplane engine is way out of my zone though

Don't give it away too cheap. If you have the engine logs that doubles it's value. Do your research on it and get what it's worth. 360s are the most common engine for homebuilts these days and bring a serious amount of money. I'm not kidding when I say it's worth 15k plus.
