Bout to put 38 baja claws on my K5 and I have heard of the airsoft pellets to balance the tires, but does it work? If it does, how much do you put in each tire? pretty much just trial and error? I've got the balancing powder in my 36in swampers right now (10oz each tire) and they've still got pretty good shake once you hit about 50-55 so that's why i'm looking for other options for my 38s.

I have 2000 in each of my 39.5" biased IROK's.
They run smooth up to as fast as I have ever driven the truck.....around 85Mph

Is there any way to do this after the tires are mounted? do they fit down the valve stem, or is there some way to get the valve stem to pop back into the tire to drop the beads in? I was in a hurry when I mounted my tires (truck was due on a boat ASAP), and walmart was out of stock on airsoft pellets at the time. Now I want to drive over 50, but the truck ain't agreeing with me =)

Tie a string around the tip of the valve stem, push it through, pour the pellets in, pull the string back up and use a pair of pliers to pull the stem back in.

I don't know if this is at all possible but it sounded good anyways... :haha:

I've been going through this in my head. Airsoft pellets seem really small for this purpose. Anyone think of using small bouncy balls? LIke 1/2 diameter, maybe from orientaltrading.com or something?

These seem to have more sigifnicant weight, and maybe it wouldnt' take as many. But you might hear them more as you come to a stop. When im not at work i'll look for somethign online that might work....

I don't think they'd be any louder then the moroccos I have as Tires right now. :haha:

But I think they would break down really fast, with the heat and abuse.

mmmm...the gumballs look tasty :) I happen to stop by bass pro shop today and saw they had the air soft pellets. Bought 8k of the .2g for $20 bucks. And if they don't work, well I guess i'm just out $20 bucks. :)

ok so i have a set of 35X14.50-15 Dick Cepeks. are they saying 10 ounces of airsoft pellets in each tire? or 10 ounces through all 4 tires??

Per tire. mr smartass posted a good thread earlier that talks alot about the different ways of tire balancing, and peoples different experiences with each. It seems like the airsoft deal is pretty popular so i'm gonna try it with the new 38x1550 Claws I just bought.

and if you check out the link mr smartass posted they say that 2000 of .2g pellets weigh in at 14 oz. That chart said my tires call for 12 oz per tire but they say a little extra won't hurt

I remember that Jason (willyswanter) ran mouse balls.. as from a computer mouse :D in his tires. Not sure how long he ran them that way but he said they worked. He knew someone who bought htem in bulk.
