ALDL problems

are you using a correct vin to connect?
if you have an aftermarket chip you should be supplied with a vin number you'll need to enter in your scanner to check for codes... street and performance's website has a vin on there to use with their chips..
i tried one scanner and couldn't get it to communicate. went to my friends shop and hooked up his scanner, grabbed a vin from some other tpi vehicle and then i could get it to work?
good luck man

you gonna be at blazerfest?

has anybody tried this particular one,http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7982218024 I can't seem to receive any info from the trucks computer. I had to use a usb adapter because I don't have a seriel port on my laptop, could that be it. any ideas?

This is the problem, you can't convert the WinALDL from serial to USB yet. They don't work right. Find a friend at a shop and use his scanner.

You do have to have a VIN number to make the scanner work for the Professional type readers.

The USB to serial converters don't work.

Good Luck
