I am aligning the front of my Sub and currently have just under 1/8" toe in. Is this too much or too little?

I am currently doing all I can to get rid of the worste DW that I have ever had. I have all new spring bushings on order(mine are noticeably shot) and will be ordering a new king pin spring and bushing soon also.

Thanks

Went and rechecked my math, I only have just under 1/16" toe in.

Here are my measurements:

front: 73 1/8
rear: 73 3/8

this makes for a 2/8 or 1/4 diff from front to rear. This is measured at teh tire, which is 39.5", and this would calculate out to just under 1/16" toe in according to this chart:

1/8" toe in is as good rule of thumb. I didn't get rid of my DW on 39.5's until redoing the kingpin bushings & springs and adding several 7/8 washers to put some more preload on the kingpins. The steering stabilizer helped out too, bias swampers need all the help they can get to drive down the road straight :D

I didn't have too mucjh of an issue with the DW with this setup after I got it alligned and put the BBs in the tires. I took it on some mild wheeling and in the same time frame the stabilizer sarted leaking. It started after that. It has progressively gotten worse. I warrantied the stabilizer, but they used a different manufacturer for the part that I had before(autozone stock replacement) and it just isn't cutting it.

The kingpin setup will be ordered on Monday and installed next weekend along with the spring and shackle bushings.

Might be time to start saving for a radius arm font suspension like on Cousin Willard. I might be there in about 4-6 years.

Definitely look into an upgraded stabilizer with those big tires. On some of the newer Jeeps we had put on nitrogen charged Fox shocksas stabilizers to help with DW. Some people consider the stabilizer a band aid but sometimes it's all about changing the geometry of the suspension and the rotating mass of bigger wheels & tires.

If I still have issues after replacing the king pin bushing/springs and leaf spring bushings then I will look into finding another stabilizer.

I had the same recently. I did the kingpin rebuild and still had the wobble. I used two 7/8" washers and now all is good.

When I did mine I took the old kingpin spring retainer(#46) and added it on top of the spring to start. You still put the new one under the spring too like normal.
The extra washers were put on top of the spring but with the other retainer in there they sit nice & flat on the spring.

That is a good idea using the old retainer as an alignment tool for the new washers. My parts got here today and I will be installing them tomorrow.

Thanks.
