does anyone have a trick to do a pretty accurate alignment with out going to an alignment shop? i have it pretty close but my steering wheel is still crooked.

oh, i replaced the shaft between the 2 tierod ends, so all i need to do is my toe.

what ive done anytime is turn it to lock all the way to one side, then 1 and a half back, that should put your steering wheel straight or pretty close.then look at your tires and see how they are. if u have a good draglink that u can adjust easy with your hands(or screwdriver/prybar), i went to a rural road and brought the tools to tighten it, i kept driving, getting out and turning the center sleeve until my wheel was straight and it tracked straight and tightened it down....o ya, i didnt go fast with it loose.

The steering wheel being crooked is a function of the draglink (the short, fore-to-aft one.)

The tie rod, side to side, affects toe. Only if your toe is way off would it push back against the draglink, methinks.

I messed with doing toe-in with a tape and chalk -- search for this -- and ended up going to the alignment shop :(
