All Around Carb

Next question, Who and where do you find q-jets? Am I going to have to go reman.

Q-jets came on just about every Chevy V8 from the late 60's up to as late as 1990.

The most desirable ones are from the 70's. They aren't all that hard to rebuild IMO and should be cheap from a junkard.

I'm all about the Edelbrock 1405 on a Performer RPM intake. I've ran the same set-up on 305, 327, 350, and 400. Never had a problem. I tried a 1407 on the 400, but it was too much. I bought a jet kit and would tune the carb to fit my needs.

stock 1974 q-jet on the stock cast iron intake worked fine for thousands of miles on the 350 and several years of wheeling and getting "is that injected" comments from time to time while wheeling.

Now I have a edel q-jet (1902) on a performer 2-0 bbc 454 alum. intake and it runs good, havent offroaded yet as the truck only runs and doen't drive yet. The bbc has half the vacuum as the stock 350 does at idle so well see.
