You have a shorted signal wire, or bad/lacking ground somewhere. Is your block grounded to the firewall properly? This would cause issues with the ground for the senders if not hooked up properly.

Hopefully others can give you a better idea where to look.

Gonna check on the block grounded to the fire wall in the morning. sounded like a ground to me to but i wasnt positive i know the frame is grounded ans the neg going to the alt bracket is all right.

You have a grounding issue, most likely the one on the back of the motor. The gauges read by resistance. The greater the resistance (lower voltage) to the gauge, the higher the reading. Most go from 90 ohm to 0 ohm, 90 causing the gauge to read zero, and most high readings are actually ~20 ohm. Full ground, or 0 ohm will cause the gauges to go past full or hot or whatnot.

A short in the system will most likely cause the gauges to either fry, or blow the fuse and not work at all. Shorts are not very common and can be disasterous to electronics if the fuses do not blow.

thats what i am gonna investigate today. hope all i did is forgot to hook it up. i may have haha stupidity on my part
