All gone.

Don't scrap that tailgate :doah:
All it has going for it is it's rust free. K5 dented the inner corners to fit his roll cage and the outside has a dent on the outer lip. Patch panels at best.
I pulled what I needed out of it to keep mine working.
3 days and counting...

oh yeah, I forgot about the necessary dent on the lip seam. lol
damn bumper was in the way :D

Still sucks. You guys dont realize what an amazing thing rust free sheet metal is. Dents can be fixed with some bondo. Rust is a pain in the ass.

Irish and I hit up a couple junkyards last weekend, 50% off. We know and understand, but we can't do anything about it. Dent free AND rust free sheet metal by the TON out here :(

And most of it prolly gets crushed. Almost enough to make me cry...

We don't even drive our rigs in the winter anymore. They don't touch the as-fault until winter is over and rain has washed all salt from the road. So if we had a yard full of good sheet metal, it wouldn't even go to waste.

Some day not long from now, people will go "oh **** I literally cannot find any good sheet metal because all of it has been either scrapped, or trimmed to ****"... Then nobody will argue with me when I complain about people scrapping or trimming perfectly good sheet metal.

These trucks havnt been in production for almost 22 years. The day is coming soon when alot of the good stuff will be gone, and a somewhat dented tailgate with no rust... Will be worth alot of money.

You're preaching to the choir. I tried this before.
I had TONS (literally) of rust free clean stuff but nobody wanted it. I had two containers full of NOS and really, really nice used from 20 + yrs of collecting it. Again, nobody wanted it so sold it to the highest price and gone. I have a small bit of NOS left.
Come to L.A and we can go look at as many '67-'91 GM trucks as you can handle. There is no shortage here right now but I do see the tide turning. 2yrs ago, the wrecker was stupid with '73-'91 square Chevys. I mean 25-30 in a row.
Now, maybe 4-8 a week. Blazers are rare in the wrecker. Maybe 2-3 a month. Used to be 5-6 a week.
At one point, my friend and I had over 100 Chevy trucks in our yard in the desert. We got fed up with nobody showing up or following thru and crushed it all.
And even if I was to start saving it again, with the time to find it, pull it, the cost of it plus transport, ain't worth the trouble. A good, clean door would be $250 by the time it reaches you and I'd make $30 out of that.
Sorry. Rant off...

And fender-in-a can ain't fixing this...
