I'd like something very street/hwy friendly for my 90 Sub 4x4. Its 90% street unless it snows. I need either a 33x12.50 or a 35x12.50. Any good recommendations? Thanks.

BFG Commercial Traction TA 235/85-16

Studded if you like.

IMHO the best street/snow out there

It's a 33:wink1:

Either the BFG A/T would be good, or the Goodyear wrangler A/T. I had the goodyears on my old k5 in 35's and they never failed me in snow or mud, and showed basically no wear after 7 or 8k miles.

I run nitto terra grapplers on my z71. I love them. Got about 30k miles on them and bout half tread left or so. But like everyone else said. Can lose with bfg a/t.

I switch tires for towing heavy loads on long road trips . I use Michelins normally on my Sub ( came with it , tread just wont wear out ) , and for towing I use Yokahamas ( bought for my now stripped pickup ) in load range E .

I ran over a binding winch that fell off a lowboy , the Yokahamas didn't get a scratch , super strong multi-ply tow tires .

'nother vote for BFG A/T.

I've been running a set on my Burb for the last 40,xxx miles with some heavy towing, they've got tons of tread left, and haven't lost any nitrogen at all.

i'm on my 3rd set of bfgs for a reason. i've also run coopers and wouldn't hesitate to buy them again. great tires and quite a bit cheaper.

I was very pleased with my Sport King A/T's. They held better in dry conditions than my M/T's do and were much quieter. They were great in snow/ice and I rarely had to use 4wd unless it was to cross the burm the city plow trucks piled up next to it all the time. After I get my current set of 31's worn out, I'll probably be getting these again.

Cooper ATR's here... not really that aggressive but definitely performed well in the snow/ice and moderate mud. I ran 315/70/17's on my Cummins.

Toyo M/T's for the win. I have about 7,000 miles on them on my F250. Front tread looks good. Rear tread has about 15% left. :doah:

My 00 Dodge is my DD work truck, I average 30-40k miles a year on it and tow alot, not huge loads (8-12k) , but I rack up alot of towing and hauling miles.
I have had BFG AT's (285/75 16 load E) they worked great but rode kind of rough for my taste. They held up pretty well, I think they got replaced at approx. 55k, which was pretty good because my truck tends to eat tires pretty quick (towing+heavy Cummins+ dodge engineering).

I really can't complain about them overall but I have found a tire I like even better and got quite a bit more mileage out of. I have been running Bridgestone Dueler REVO's (now replaced by the revo 2) and I just ordered another set. I am at 70k on these and they pulled me through the 3 blizzards (12-25") this past winter no problem. They are within a few dollars of the BFG and overall I think it is a much better tire, they are great in the rain, snow, ice, they are quiet and easy to balance and last a long time. While I don't "wheel" this truck I do pull equipement through muddy construction sites and haul firewood up the trails where we cut so I have had them in the mud and was impressed as well. Just my $.02 :D

Mickey thompson ATZ a little pricy but have a lot of tread than other AT's I have 265/75 on my yukon and tow a 19' sail boat around in the summer, in the winter they worked out nice, we got a lot of snow here in South Jersey. My vote it the Mickey thompson ATZ, ride great, look great, and a lot of treat. I see to many people with the BFG A/T everyone and their mother has them, I am not knockin the BFG tire, it is just everyone has them. I rarely see the ATZ around my area just my 2 cents

Yokahama Geolander AT's. Just put the 3rd set on at 104k. Got 50k out of each of the first 2 sets. 30% towing of a 15k fifth wheel trailer or 10k Blazer and trailer. have not had issues in snow. Have ran it all over the desert in Ca. with the trailer hooked on. Ran for a while with the camper on it.

Now, why could that be...?

I just did a check on mine. 3/4-ton Burb with 33-12.50/R16 BFG A/T. 44k miles over three years ($810 installed at Costco), about 10k of which are towing a 9k-pound trailer. Some miles have been dirt road and desert sand. 11/32" tread is left, balance/roundness is great, and all still have 46 psi nitrogen in them. This is my third set of them, and so far the only problem I've had was a puncture on a set of 33x9.50/R15's in Mexico...but any tire would have punctured in that situation.

I like the Goodyear Wrangler silent armor. They are the most agressive in the wrangler line that still have a tread life warranty. I run the 35"s and they have a 50k mile warranty! I've had em' aired down and even put the sidewalls to the test. They rock!
