all4fun offroad cage

Looking to have something to build off of. Seen the diy4x but dont necessarily want to go through the dash.

That looks like they used a harbor freight tubing kinker. A good bender will not cause the inside of the radius to push in like that. I think they used an exhaust bender.

I'm not cage builder so please educate me if I'm wrong but doesn't the imprint on the tube (circled) show they are using something other than a tubing bender?

Obijaunk5 beat me to it and I agree, looks like muffler pipe bends. No bueno.

@Deuling may be able to put something together for you. I’d shoot him a message. I don’t know where you are located though.

2" HREW isn't much weaker than 1.75" DOM, other than the improper bends (which could be gusseted - adding to the work). I bet having or not having additions that tie to the frame makes a bigger difference.

It is a lot more work, but going through the dash makes a cleaner looking and more functional install. I have built them both ways, and getting into a non through the dash cage is a pain.

You can not see the A pillar very well in this one, but this is how I do it.9845.jpeg

I dunno why but that pic came through all dicked up?? @ktmoutfront

But I agree with this. Even if you had to cut the dash out from the windshield area leaving a stub to weld back to it will be better than attempting to bend around it.
