i have asked this question numerous times to different people and no one knows the answer. does ANY0NE know what size stock alloy rims are for an '87 K5? i know its either x8 or x7. i need to know cuz i plan on puttn 33's on and can't if they are x7. please help, thanks

Brett

The ones I have on my truck were just slightly over 7 inches wide. Once they were beadlocked they measure about 7 5/8''. I run a 37 x 13 bogger with no problems. I wouldn't go any wider than that on such a narrow wheel.

I used to have an '87 K5 with the factory alloy wheels. 33x12.50's fit them just fine. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

well i rekn i might jus try it then, they wont be low pressure or rock crawlin or anything. so whats the worst that could happen (knock on wood)

I used to air mine down to 20 psi up front and 18 in the back when playing in the rocks. That's enough to really soften up the ride, get a good grip on the rocks and not have to worry too much about popping a bead or crunching the wheel. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

my stock 85 ralley rims are 8 or 8.5"...

Those are ralleys, not alloys. I have 8" ralleys too. The alloys are 7".

I like the alloys. They're cool looking.

On a slow trun I can heir my rims making a cliking noise. Why? Centerline rims. Is this rim flex? /forums/images/icons/confused.gif
