Almost crashed and burned!

Slammed on my brakes to avoid killing dog, almost hit a telephone post! If I slam on my brakes it feels like it wants to lose control. Even If I am going completely straight and hit my brakes hard it starts to go where it wants to!

my 84 would go for the ditch every time i hit the brakes...I mean I had to crank the wheel about 3/4 of a turn to keep it on the road...
I changed the front brake calipers...$17 each...one was seized.

go figure, they only had 1940000 miles on them
