I went looking for a pedal assembly for a Hydro-Boost for my upcoming swap, and they had LITTERALLY, a giant construction size dumpster full over the top w/ axles. I know the owner and was talking to him about my Blazer, and I wanted a van 14 for the rear to square it up. That the one I had was from a truck and it would still be narrow in the rear. He told me to climb up and see if there was anything in there I would need, that they were all good, he just couldnt keep them anymore, and they were gonna be scrapped!

SO...I climb up and see ff14 bolts EVERYWHERE! A bunch of D60 rears, and something that looked like a monster 9". Must have been out of an import box van or something. He told me he was positive he loaded a ff14 from a van in there. He asked if I could tell which one it was, and he would get it out! There was NO way I could tell which out of all these axles was the ONE van 14 in there.

I did ask him to let me know as soon as ANYTHING 8 lug front came in. He does business w/ my dad and he said he would let him know.

He said he gets at least 1 call per month from people looking for GM D60 fronts.

I love cruising junk yards. LOL! I did get a complete Hydro-Boost set up for my Blazer "ordered" this afternoon. I pick it up tomorrow.

If anyone is wanting a hydro, let me know. I found 2 more besides the 1 I bought. Just the booster and lines tho, no pumps. There is a few pedal assemblies left too.

Man if he would sell you the 14's for $20-30 each you could sell them off for a $100 and shipping and make a killing!
Wish I were closer I would be down there in a heart beat.

I am looking for a complete unit from the pump to the boost unit. I would also need the peddle assy also. Are these later units that have the O ring style tubes, not the flaired ones? If so I am interested. I am going to go bone yarding tomrrow, let me know what you can get it for. Thanks Jeff

I was just tellin The General, I was in N.C. a few days ago. Drove right thru Atlanta. It was like 5-6 hrs to get from Atlanta to here on I-75. If I had known I was gonna stumble on to this I would have tried to make a delivery run.

What about 'regular non-van' 14B's? That would be more readily available and all you need is the wheel spacers IF you really want the width to match.............were there any in there?

Yeah there were several 14s in there. I already have a truck 14 in storage waiting to go in. I would just like to get my hands on a van 14. No biggie tho. I will stumble on one some day. Maybe. I am not too sure about the spacers tho, I know several here run them but I am not totally sold on them yet.

You should have found out what the scrap price was on that bumpster! I bet it would be cheaper than buying all of them!! Then you could have done like Grim said and made a profit! You should work somehting out with the guy for the next time!!!

I'm experiancing something like that. I'm looking for either a D44 8 lug or a 10 bolt 8 lug (fronts) and a guy said, "I know a guy that has 5 of them just sitting around...8 lug too. Let me give him a call!" He calls him...calls me back..."He crushed them a month ago"

Maybe if the junk yards weren't selling stuff for way to much people would buy it. No sympathy for them here.

That sounds like my days at the Junkyard with Bigdaddyof2 and The Shagz. We usually find tons (literally) of 14s, 60s, 2 1/2 ton stuff and just watch it get smashed. We usually pop the dif covers and check the gear ratios. We have never found a Dana 60 front end. Heres a good story, we were there one day and in (on the rollback) came a 6" lifted Shortbed Chevy stepside around a 76 or earlier, bright yellow (body looked perfect) with 1/2 ton drivetrain. We looked, it had a flat top knuckle! So, out came the torch. They chopped off the housing and gave us the knuckles, plus cut the springs out from under it. Hated to see such a cool truck getting trashed, but we wanted the parts. Next thing that happens, the forklift is moving the truck around and it falls flat on its frontend, sending the front fenders into the doors, perfect windshield fell out the front, frame was bent. So, start crying now all you shortbed lovers, this one was a beauty.

I prob. could have gotten them for scrap price at that point. They were just gonna scrap em anyway. I just didnt want to sift thru 300 axles in a pile.
shocked.gif

I talked to the owner and he is gonna get in touch w/ me or my dad when the next 8 lug comes in.

This place isnt too bad on their prices. Not like the place I got the Hydro system at, but still decent.

BTW the place I got the hydro system at, has a 454 out of an 89 w/ about 50,000 on it for $1,100. Any takers??

Why didnt you buy the whole truck Mudzer?? If they just scrapped it, you prob coulda got it for scrap price.

I gotta start cruising the junk yards regularly again. Nah I just gotta get a job at a junk yard! LOL!
