I take the old overload springs and cut off the tapered end with the metal chop saw and use the drillpress to drill a hole in the middle of the cut down spring . It's basically a zero rate/4 degree shim . These get bolted to my front spring packs . I've been doing this for years and have never had a problem with these breaking/cracking . You can always cut out the middle of the over spring and use the factory hole and I think they are about 3/4" thick .

thats exactly correct, "cut out the middle of the over spring and use the factory hole and I think they are about 3/4" thick " have done the same thing to friends trucks as well. Thanks for explaining it .

I should have thought of the old ...keep it simple stupid ...explination from the start
