Ok I got the sterring box off. Im putting on the new one and I cant seem to get the bolts all the way through. They go about half way and thats it. Finally I got three bolts in and I tried to tap the last hole and it snapped there gos the tap and it stuck in the last hole. Can I run it with three bolts in until I can get it to a shop?

Steering is the most important thing on any vehicle. Especially in the 4x4 world where we are under the microscope. Don't risk it. Either fix it or have it towed to a shop. Just my 2 cents.

Just put some JB weld on it then wrap it with duct tape for added strength... Git R Done.

so the bolts won't tighten all the way???? is it a new box??? or a new to you USED box???? you might be in trouble with the broken tap in there...anyway to remove the tap at all????


i wouldn't drive it that's for sure...our steering sucks with all 4 bolts holding the box to the frame, yet alone 3.
