Got this steering column.
Well three of them actually...
All of them same problem.
Key is stuck in between the lock and start positions.
Wont move.
Sucks bad.
How do I fix them?
Never really pulled one apart.

Are any of them tilt columns? Problem may be with the gear that is atached to thswitch shaft. You can usually see the gear through the tilt lever hole! These gears are usually plastic. I had one stripped out and had to take the column apart to fix. This gear moves a bar th runs up column and is attached to electrical switch for the ign!!! One other option is the that key cylinder is worn out, could try to get it out and use the wonder juice (WD40) see if that works. Ethier way your gonna have to pull the steering wheel.

if they're automatics, make sure the shift level is in the park position. Gets me every time when the column is out of the truck.

As far as I know they are all in park unless for some reason I have gone insane which is a distinct possibility right now.

There is one alternative to tearing them apart! just whack on them with a 3lb hammer! Seriously be sure you have a steering column compresor tool to get the retainer clip off the shaft! You can get it off pretty easy but yeah good luck getting it back on with out it.

Yeha I learned that one this week I ended up figuring out how to get the clip on just a whole bunch of pushin and wigglin.

I got a steering wheel puller but I dont have one of those U shaped pullers to tear it on down...
