anyone have pics of the alternator brackets? also if someone could take a pic looking down from the top of the motor so i can see how the pulleys allline up together.
the truck i picked up came with no alternator and the only bracket for it is the top for adjusting the belt tension, i pulled off a alt from a SBC that i had and quickly threw it in there to see if i could make it work but i noticed with just using the bottom bolt spacer (2.5" roughly) and the top tap inside the adjuster bracket (like it should go) the pulleys were not aligned.
the water pump pulley has 2 groves, the inside one is going to the crank and P/S pump. it is using the inside pulley on the crank but the outside one on the P/S pump.
both the outer grooves on the W/P pulley and crank pulley are not being used right now, and the inside groove on the P/S pump is not being used.
this set's it up for the alternator to be way to far out of alignment, so i think the P/S pump needs to move out but would like a pic to make sure.
truck is a 6.2, no A/C, with hydroboost.
thanks guys, hope it made sense
