Thanks for the update Andrew...I'm looking forward to your solution! I just ordered an Arduino to start playing around with but I was also looking at some of the picaxe controllers. Any recommendations on where to start with the PICs?

Id have to say, skip the Picaxe and go right to the PIC, you will have more freedom and power, plus a lot more speed. Ill explain the rest later... Check your PM.
