Hey guys,

I have an 84 k5 that I just dropped in a 92 model 454 with serp belt. My question is this. With the Alternator being different, other than getting a pig tail from the dealer is there another way to plug the alternator up to the current system?

Could prolly swap pulleys or something ... but the alternator plug is available aftermarket and is easy to wire up.

Search for the threads on the Pontiac Transport alternator, as they have a newer style plug which I would assume is the same as yours.

their part #30707 or 30705. I got something similar at my local parts place.

I even found one the opposite gender to their #30706 at the local shop, so I made up a little cable that plugged into the factory harness and the new alternator, made it a drop-in upgrade:
