i have been searching and cant fine my answer i am looking for....

i have a hopped up 350 and i decided to do a serp swap from an 88 k1500 i got all the stuff on and the alternator installed but cant figure out what i need for the regulator.... can i just put power to one terminal and if so which one. whats the deal with this resistor plug you all talk bout...

my truck was been completely rewired for bare essentials.. please help the alternator i am working with is the factory alt for an 88 1500 i believe it a cs130 as you all call it i know its 105 amp.... thanks all i want is for the alt to work don't care bout a light or anything like that my volt gauge is hooked to the battery thanks again

ok that atricle was way more then i needed to know now i am am completely confused....
what wires need power to charge and what do i need to resist... the alt is from autozone if that can help tell you which rectifier i have

I think the pics are pretty clear. If your truck is like mine, the two prong plug has a red and (brown?) wire going to it. Terminal A is red. Look at the early connector pictured, as well as the adapter harness, and you'll see the "A".

Get a stock CS plug out of the wrecking yard. Cut it off. You need only two wires. (again as pictured) your Red "A" wire to S on the CS connector, Brown(?) to L. L needs the resistor in it. According to the Nova site linked, it needs a resistor of at least 35 ohms.

there lies the problem i dont have the factory wiring as the truck is a burn victim(dont ask) and my alt only had a battery cable and i trigger wire to turn on the rectifier before

So you just need an ignition 12V wire with resistor, and a battery 12V wire for the CS130 plug, plus the charge wire off the lug on the back.
