Hi K-5 team..

I want to upgrade my alt.. and after stopping by my lcoal rebuild shop the guy told me that the stock alt was not a good case to rewind. but the ? "Cs130"? is the perfect case to rebuild. as long as it will mount up.. I tried searching online but getting confused on what I currently have , I think is the cs10..

also was looking at new brackets on summit racing. but again not sure if they are easy bolt ons

any way . any education help would be great as to what models are swappable to the factory location , pass side...

Thanks,louied

need more info from you on your rig first.

and the stock style are fine for upgrades.

and cs-130 is o.k. but small parts and case hold heat more and can only go so far in amps.

i did a 200 amp bolt in on my plow truck. i have the full serp belt setup that uses a cs-130 alt. but got the upgraded bigger case cs-144 bolt in swap. and pluged right in also.

look and read this tons of info. http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=236217&highlight=cs130

Great link--

Great link has all the info i was looking for . as long as the cs-144 will mount up and be aligned then great.. I am runing the serp pully not V-Groove. it goes over the water pump and the crankshaft.

looks like the si alt.. like mentioned in the other fourm post. now it down to $$. from my alt rebuilder shop.. hope he will give me a good deal. if not Summit or jegs..? I dont understand what you did? used the c-130 parts in a c-144 case?

JOB COMPLETE: the CS-144 Case is a direct fit , what i did was order the march Performance alt bracket, off of eBay, $40.00 and Bam.bam fits like a glove, i will snap a pic to show you all.

250AMPS-one alt. under 200 bucks.

K-5 = Alt upgrade to a CS-144 wit no problems, but i recommend the new bracket to make the install super simple and get rid of the plain ole' screwdriver-prying- belt tensioning bracket.
