So I have a good alt and a good battery. Problem is, battery isn't being charged. I don't have a gauge cluster (and clipped gauge wires) I understand the brown wire is for the alt indicator light, and goes to the alt. Question is, how do I wire this without a light/ inst. cluster. Seems like I need to hook the brown wire that would be connected from the alt indicator to the volt regulator to and ignition hot...

I just dont want to blow anything up:crazy: What say you guys? I have 4ga wire from the alt to batt. Then I have the connector with a dead ended alt indicator wire and the other red wire is hooked up.

What alt?

Are the terminals on the plug labeled PLFS?

Yup. Its a cs. I did a little more reading. I have no power at either terminal, L or I. Sounds like i need to wire L to a ign hot, and I to a constant hot? I see a resistor in the diagram... Is this something im going to need? Any problem with wiring it up this way?

Try just running 12 volt ignition hot to L only and see if it starts charging.

I think that is the terminal I use on my buggy and have had no problems for a few years. Some say the resistor is needed but I think maybe it isn't/

As far as I can tell its working. I had a partly charged batt that I through in it(just enough to start it) Took it for a long ride, got home and it restarted (cranked real strong) So seems good to me :D

If you have access to a multi meter double check it.

Mine is this way and seems to work well.
