In my '84 K5 I've upgraded to a serpentine belt setup. The alternator that came with the kit has a four wire hookup. The alternator that was in the truck had only two wires. How do I hookup the new alternator? Any ideas? /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif

IIRC connect the thicker red wires "S" together then the other stock wire goes to the "L" wire on the new alt. If your start at the thicker red wire, skip one, it will be the third wire on the new alt. A conversion plug is available at the dealer or any auto electric shop also.
