Alternator wiring??

I just did a serpentine swap off 91 on my 88 chevy and alternator has 1 brown wire and a orange one that loops from plug to bolt on back that goes to batt. My question is the new alt has 1 brown wire and 1 pink/black striped wire how would I wire it or can I just get a single wire plug and just connect brown wire and cut orange one and connect straight to bolt on back of alt.THanks

Hook the brown wire to your existing brown wire and wire the pnk/black stripe wire to an ignition hot.
