OK, here's a pic and i may grab a few more tomorrow real quick like, if I can. There are lots of items that need tweaking yet before we release anything. This is basically a good solid starting point.

From here we can add,

Defrost vents/heat vent holes
heater control position
Gauge holes
Radio cut outs
headlight switch hole and other switch holes as needed.

The door will drop open but the compartment box will stay fixed and be a bolt in after major installation is completed. Stainless hinge on the inside is the plan as well as a locking latch.

Thanks guys.

We're trying to keep things as open as possible for customizing the layout. For instance the area on the passenger side, inboard of the compartment door. Enough space there to put a radio rather than on the drivers side where it would be more beneficial for instrumentation.

Alternately you could place a CB in the same location and have the radio still on the drivers side.

Pretty much a blank chalkboard at this point.

OH, another option I forgot to mention, we have also talked about holes for A-pillar tubes for a through dash cage.

Ok, you've got my attention. What years will this fit, 73-91? I'm not sure if the inner dash structure is the same on all years or if you plan on people to cut the inner structure out and install this somehow. I've recently been thinking about doing this myself since my dash pad is starting to crack pretty good. What's the cost going to look like?

Looks Great, I like!!! I am curious about the mounting, also. What is the plan??

Thank you for continuing to create new and innovative products for my "baby".

Installation of this dash does require removing alot of the inner structure. The only thing that gets left behind is the heavy structure that the steering wheel mounts off of and a strip along the windshield. Enough along the windshield that the vin tag stays as well as the mounting holes of the defrost vents.

We've taken alot of detailed photos of where the cuts need to be made and how much to leave. It's a fairly simple process with a thin wheel on a grinder.....

Of course we did it in a firewall with nothing else around it, so, we're gona go back and do another one for project Grade 8 to make sure its doable with everything intact.

I'm glad you guys like the direction is headed. We stuck alot of aluminum into this already and for sure probably another full sheet to go yet.

Cost, well, we haven't done much figuring on it as of yet. Just some off the cuff estimations as to amount of material used and some of the time to do it. Time is pretty difficult to calculate this early in the game. No fixturing is done at this point which always makes things go faster.

Take a look at the lower area, both sides of the dash have the same angle on them and they meet right in the middle of the passenger compartment.

Seeing as how they have the same angle, I won't take much for us to use that as a starting point to move on into an aluminum console!

dash looks awesome hope i can afford it.... i would be interested in a half dash set-up too. ya know right now i have no dash just the stock plastic bezel with some autometer gauges looks real ghetto

This is such an awesome dash! Definitly worth the wait. I will be interested in this once it is released or possibly just the driver's side.

I thought some of you may be interested in the drivers side alone.

I really like the center console idea aswell. I wonder how hard would it be to make a dash that allows the factory guages and bezel to fit. I would love to have all aftermarket guages but, funds are too tight to even think about it right now.
Cant wait to see some of these dashes inplace and wired in.
