Aluminum intake pitting

good fel-pro gasket set and some permatex RIGHT STUFF .

open gasket set box and remove 2 intake gaskets save these .

toss the box and end seals they blow out anyway .

clean all surfaces good .

do a nice 5/16-3/8" bead of RIGHT STUFF on front and back with 1/4" tab up each side to head .

then tiny thin film around the water ports .

assemble and let cure .

don't forget clean the center bolt holes and put tiny bit rtv on threads of bolts so the oil dosnt wick up the threads . and let oil soak the top of the intake.

Thanks K30,
I have the fel-pro gaskets and plan on just using the intake gaskets. Thanks for the reminder about the center bolts. I guess I will get back to drilling out the center holes to make them the correct angle.

don't do that drill out .

I have seen special angled washers for this job . . . keeps the weak points of the intake from showing up . . . and works better also .

What intake is this? I've never seen anything that bad on aluminum except really old racing stuff from the 60's when they were all die cast
