I used steel inserts that would accept a 60* seat lugnut, they worked great.
I had the wheels machined to accept the inserts.

Anyone have info about what looks like steel inserts. Some holes have them, some don’t. My question is are they supposed to be there? If so I can have a machinist buddy of mine make some, if not are those just like washers somebody smashed into the wheel? Some of the wheels have them on every hole and some don’t have them at all.

You might explore shank type lug nuts, some of the older Weld and mag type wheels used them.
