So Cal.
While working in and around your rig with a roll cage in it. I smacked my head hard on the cage tube the last two damn days working on my truck. First day, no hat. IT HURT LIKE HELL! Second day, hit my head but was wearing a hat at the time. It still hurt but it did pad it somewhat. I know, I know, or better yet, just don't smack your head :D :haha:

Then this would have been in the lounge :D :haha:This is quality garage tech, man. This is for those future tube benders out there so they know what dangers they can expect while working a cage. Although it might knowc some sence into them so it might be a good thing. It didn't work for me though :haha:I'm still a dumbass. Might have knocked a few more brain cells loose. :haha:

I guess thats why they to not put a cage in a street car

Actually, this is a general safety issue that is typically overlooked.

We put a cage in our trucks to protect the occupants from potential harm.
The fact that the occupants need to be protected from the cage gets too little attention.

And if you think about it, this is not just applicable to the trail.

Ofcourse, I will have it fully padded when its all done but while still in the build stage it might get melted from any welding I'm doing still.

I've hit my head several times while building my cage...:D

But, since this is kind of a safety tech thread...

I'll add that you should wear ear plugs when welding, trust me...:eek1:

Yep, I always wear ear plugs while welding 100% of the time, even while doing flat welding where I'm looking down. Working in machine shops for so many years I always wore them every day for 10-12 hours a day. Never lost the habit.
