Hey guys, I’ve been reading through old posts about Blazer bash and this year I really want to try to make it so I’m going through my blazer trying to get everything ready. I read a checklist that required a roll cage or the factory top. I have a soft top and I have this weird type of roof rack/cage do you guys think it will pass muster? it’s bolted down all over the edges through the bedside and all the welding was done by a guy who knew what he was doing. I don’t think it would survive rolling down the mountain but I think leaps and bounds better than the factory fiberglass top. And I’m pretty inexperienced on anything other than dirt roads and trails so I have no problem taking the bypass on hard spots.
And I was wondering about lockers, I don’t have any as of now. I have an open 44 front and a posi 12 bolt rear, but have been looking at a 14 bolt semi float swap and if I did that I would get a Detroit. Is that something I should jump on while there’s time?
Other than that I think I’m good I just replaced my engine and transmission with in the last 30000 milesI have two new driveshaft rebuilt the front axle last year, All new leaf springs and bushings all around new shocks all around new steering and tie rod ends and my brakes work pretty good.
Then I have a front bumper that I’m in the process of finishing which will have a good strong recovery points and a winch
Right now I have the stock rear bumper with no good recovery points but I plan on building a kick ass bumper with the spare tire carrier in the next month or two.
And I just installed a big tool box where I keep all my spare parts fluids straps and shackles (and all my tools of course).

Is there anything that’s missing that I should be aware of or tips or tricks?
I plan on making it down there if I can get a trailer to carry my blazer
