Ok so i have a 78 stepside, its just sitting in my back yard. It is wait on a 14 bolt rear, as the 12 bolt is blow to peices....
I also have a 10 bolt out of a burb sitting next to it. Should I swap in the 10, or just hold out for the 14? Its not going to be for daily driving or any of the sort... Its not really legal. So what should I do guys???? Just help me get the right idea into my head..
 
definatly wait for a 14 bolt. you wouldnt want to swap in a weaker rear end if the one you have is already blown up. full floating 14 bolts are just about everyware and can be had for cheap, o yea they are strong too.
 
If you already have a 10 bolt i'd say swap it in but realize that it too will soon explode. If you don't mind waiting for a 14ff and the 8 lug wheels then i'd definately wait.
 
If you have my patients I'd go 10 bolt and blow that sumbeach to pieces and round up a 14ff while in the process of destruction!
 
sell the 10bolt and buy a 14bolt. problem solved.
 
It happens. I sold one with 3.08's for a $150 to a guy that was gonna put it in a burb...:rolleyes:

Well it was actually my friends axle at my place. He set it up, so I was just the proxy seller (or rapist). So no, didn't feel bad at all. Afterall, like you said, he must not have been in his right mind.

Ah man, that was the original reason I went into this thread. :haha: The irony drew me. I let it slide though, it seems the spelling jokes are just too easy sometimes.
 
Put the 10 bolt in, and drive the d*mn truck. I mean you didn't buy it to let it sit, and plus you can go pick up your new 14bff in your pick up.

But if you already have a way of getting the 14b home, then blow up the 10 bolt, and sell it for scrap.
