Am I silly to think my truck can do this?

I was thinking about towing my k30 and my buddies k5 to OK to Disney ORV park. I have a 02 K2500 with a 8.1 and I can borrow my father inlaws 35' fifth wheel. The max trailer weight is listed as 12k in my owners manual. Not knowing what my boxless K30, the K5 is a trazer, and not sure about the trailer weight. Am I silly to think it will all be close to this weight? The truck is rated at 20k GWVR so there may a bit more room depending on the truck itself.

I'm sure your truck can tow it, but can it stop it? Does the trailer have brakes? Is the truck equipped with an electric brake controller?

If you just want to go by the max trailer weight in the owner's manual than no way you will stay under 12k. I would guess the trailer itself to be at least 5k depending on it's load rating. That only leaves 7k divided between the two trucks which ain't happening.....

Not taking into account possible legality issues of being overweight, I think the truck probably could handle the load if everything is set up properly. And I would really hope that a 35' trailer would have brakes on all axles!

Seen guys tow more with less around here! Legal or not. :doah:

I would be careful with your ally...slipped mine twice towing less than that.

I just called dad. He tows 13-14k + the trailer with his. I should be fine.

Just was there to look around a little on Friday in my wife's jeep. Most likely be some time in July.

I wonder what "overloaded" is for a truck and trailer. I have load range Es and plan on airbags. I can't remember if it has tandums or duals.
