American wire

Used their full harness for dads 77 bronco. Easy to use, great pictures and instructions. No complaints.

Haven't used it yet but plan to since an engineer friend who has built several late 60s cars highly recommended them

Are American wire vehicle specific harnesses more plug and play or is there more "wiring" involved with their kits?

Anyone know how well the harness plays with Dakota digital gauges?

I was thinking about going that route as well for my k5.

I can only speak for the bronco harness I did but most of it was pre terminated except tail lights, head lights, vss, radio, and various engine sensors.

The have the original gm wiring jigs for lack of a better term. For a lot of models they produce the only oem/restoration quality harnesses.
I have a little insight to them as a good friend of mine has worked there since high school. Their building is maybe 20min from me in Bellmawr NJ.
Everything I've got from them is very nice.

Yeah, well I ordered the 1969 c10 kit they sell. As I move along in this build, we’ll see if I can tackle the wiring myself. I just don’t want to make a mess and create an expensive “fix” someone else will have to do.

Wiring is intimidating, I get it but it's really worth taking on slowly. Unless you start hacking the harness up there's really not much to screw up. Just make sure all your connections are good. Volt meter is your friend

I installed that harness on my buddies 69 C-15. Came out sweet.

I had my buddy get a bunch of new stuff prior to install. Had him get a new fan controller, new temp sensors, new complete dash, new alternator, new tail lights housings with lenses, marker lights with lenses, headlight sockets, front blinker assembly with new sockets, new horn, new stereo with speakers and wire, new heater controls with light socket, new under dash light, under hood light, dome light, new ign switch, and wiper motor rebuild kit. I had to rewire the wiper switch as it didn't come in the kit, just the supply 12v positive. I also added some extra circuits for future use and re-did all grounds. I used a lot of heat shrink and non insulated crimps in various sizes.
