Any reason an AN style carb inlet fitting with 7/8-20 threads wouldn't work on a 76 quadrajet? It lists for up to a 74, but it appears to be the same thing to me? Granted, I didn't measure the stock fitting to see if it was that size, but this idea didn't pop into my head when it was convenient to do so. I'd post a link to the one I was looking at (off summit), but that's a no-go.

I get real AN stuff for a 'reasonable' deal, and my old hard fuel lines and the SAE fittings are pretty trashed (rust, inside and out, and the fittings are beat). Think I might as well redo the hard lines, maybe ditch the mechanical pump at the same time. I've got a spin-on filter that I want to plumb in aswell, as the little dealio in the inlet fitting isn't so hot, IMHO.

There's 2 different sizes of inlet fittings for QJs. The break is in '74, you need a 1" x 20tpi one. It's Russell part# 640340 for -6 and 640350 for -8.
