What's the proper procedure for flaring for AN fittings? I can't seem to find any tutorial on the topic.

I know you need the 37 degree flare tool. What I'm trying to do is run some hardline with AN ends.

I've got these:
Tube Nuts
and these
Tube Sleeves
and this
Hard Line

Do you just slide the nut on, then the sleeve and flare the end? The flare holds the sleeve which holds the nut?

thx

You are correct. Just be careful, true AN fittings are 37* but you can also get them in 45* You obviously cannot mix between them.

SAE flare fittings are the 45*'s. Some use the same threads as AN's, others don't. As already stated, don't mix them.

With that aluminum tube I've found that the max distance btwn supports can't exceed ~18" or vibration induced fatigue starts to be a problem.
FWIW I use Adel type rubber lined clamps. Where I'm going to make a transition to flex hose I use a bulkhead union fitting stuck thru something convenient or a purpose-built tab.

Just use aeroquip and you will be fine. Jegs brand should be fine also.

Make sure you use the same brand hose and fittings. They go together and fit better that way.

Thanks for the tips. I've got the rubber lined clamps because I was worried about rattling and poking holes in the tubing. They're spaced probably around 18-20" apart give or take so I should be good. All the connectors are the same brand, the links I posted were just the first ones I came across.

Thanks again.
