Ok, here will be my future truck; 95-99 chevy extended cab long bed to start. Body, paint, and interior must by imaculate. Then, do a cummins swap, NVxx00 trans, 205 t case, and then do a SAS using super duty components much like this fella. All done. MAke it all nicely done and reliable.

It would be awesome and be everything I want and keep me from financing a new truck that still wouldn't be perdect for me.

I looked at a new Chevy the other day. 4x4, 4 door. It was over 50K!! Phuck that!!

I think that would be a sick truck! For the way less the cost of a new truck you could have a vehicle that was entirely better!

Word up! Se with me one of my troubles is i dont need/want a crew cab and i cant build a truck for hauling/road trips thats a single cab. So that kills any square body. And the frames and bodys on the newer stuff are a little better in my opinion as far as strength and toughness goes. Not to mention the comfyness!

i have been thinking about a 4dr version of that as you may remember. they are really cheap. a 95 might be the best year. better dash and interior, yet still tbi. so they cost alot less than a 96' with a vortec. i dont care for the eary dash and guages either.

In fact i love how my 97 rides and drives so much i've been thinking of selling out and getting a 96-99 blazer, last of the 2 drs...

Anyways, mitch, cool build idea. Only issue i see is diesel will prob be over 5 bucks by the time your swap done...

Li pic whorin for your thread...

Yea i really like yours! But i would like it even more with a long bed and the original silver on the wheels. And as far as fuel prices, meh, they are all going up. At least with the diesel i'll be in the 15-18mpg range.

it needs some 255/85/16s to fill the wheelwells.

im driving a 98' ecsb right now. i like it. a long bed just isnt a requirement anymore. the extra cab just isnt big enough. i have chicklets though, and the little one is still in a car seat. 4" more and i would be happy.

At least some 265/76s. However, there's lots a tread left so i guess I'll run em.

This is the first short bed work rig I've owned in ages. Its ok, but not my fav. Its not as big of an issue sense all my tools are in my trailer. But that might change...

A CC long bed is a long a$$ truck :eek1:

I like that the wheels were painted black. matches my flairs and trim.

Actually got to spend a whole week commuting to work without my trailer last week. Sure was nice, and my mileage jumped up 2 more MPGs...to 9.5 :doah:

Another out loud thought for another "future truck build". I wanna do a 77ish crew cab short bed. Very nice. All cordovan brown. 4x4 but half ton. 2.5" lift, 33's, tan 90ish suburban interior including the bucket seats and console. Very late model 5.3/6l90 combo with D.O.D. and VVT. Also use a vintage air setup for the HVAC. Heavily sound deadened by way of in and out lizard skin as well as anywhere i can think to spray it like the back side of the dash, all the way up the inside of the firewall, inside the doors etc etc as well as a layer of dynomat(or similar) inside on the floor. Spray in bed liner. Thats about it. The goal would be to make it as pleasurable a cruiser as possible while still being a sweet camping/"expedition" vehicle.

Imagine exactly this truck, but a 4x4 half ton with stock rally wheels, 33's(thinking BFG KM2's) and a 2.5"lift.

That in 2wd with a 6.0/t6060 and a 14sf rear. Great dd

Burnt Orange with that off white/cream center is nice too

Ive been reading that post you cited on pirate. I think its a pretty sweet build. Ive always wanted to do an extended cab with a clipped bed and SCSB wheel base with the rear tire stuffed against the back of the cab.

I kinda let that go when I realized I was parting ways from fullsized trucks though.
