So I put in a 14bff from a 85 or 86 k30 in my 87 v10. Just had a local shop make up some u bolts but what do you guys do for the anchor plates?

did you move the spring perches width ?

and just go round bend ubolts and reuse your old plates and massage the holes with die grinder . or get some diy4x or ruff stuff plates.

My original anchor plates from the half ton are way to small. So do I need to move in the leaf spring perches anyway. I wouldn't know if they line up becuase the frame is bent because I was rear ended which is why I'm replacing the rear end

K30 spring perches are narrower than a K10 or K20 so they will need o be moved.

Try Diy4x for the u-bolt plates.

OK I think I've got a problem. When I measure the axle tube I get like almost 4 1/4". Everyone says 14b ff are 3 1/2". And I did buy diy4x u bolts for 14b and there not near wide enough

Oh OK and the shock mounts are opposite too right?

Yes, shock mounts are opposite sides on C/K30's.

14FF tubes are 3 3/8" diameter.

OK. But I was still disappointed about there u bolts not being wide enough. All the 14b ff were the same even for dually trucks right?

You sure it's a 14 bolt and not a Dana 70?

14 bolt has a removable pinion support. So bolts up by the pinion yoke

I'm gonna be soo ****in pissed if it turns out to be a Dana 70. Did any mid 80s k30s come with Dana 70s?

I'm pro D70 but... More expensive to build and wider from WMS to WMS.

Yes, a DRW D70HD from a square body dually is about 74" WMS to WMS whereas an SRW 14 bolt from a square body is about 68" (iirc).

I knew it looked wider. Wtf I got ripped off. Guess its my own fault

From what I understand Dana 70s are pretty desirable (especially if you want to run stock non-recentered H1 wheels) and probably worth more than a run of the mill 14 bolt so don't get too upset. If you run a dually hub front axle with the Dana 70 rear and the 7" backspace H1 double beadlocks it will be a perfect combo . . .
