While work on my passenger side window , trying to get it to run smoother and while looking around I found this:

WTF.jpg

This is on the inside of the outer door skin. Its towards mirror, 3/4 up the door .

I have no idea. The outside door is smooth, no obvious repair or anything. I got the truck from about 8 years ago. it was originally a Texas truck, I knew the front got into a fenderbender when I went to put the front bumper on and it was off a little bit on one side. so who knows.

That looks like burns from a stud puller. If you thought the body was clean then perhaps someone that actually knew what they were doing did the body work.

Believe it or not there are guys out there that know what theyre doing and can make it look like something was never touched. I happen to work with 2 of them and its amazing compared to the majority of dumb asses in the field.

Yea, the outside body is flat and smooth, no waves, no nothing, nothing that would even make me think there was repair work. I went ahead and cleaned up the area with dremel and wire wheel and then put some paint on it.

I've seen that done before, an old trick using a slide hammer, the guy knew what he was doing.

X2...

These guys are the ones you want working on your rigs as far as body work and painting go.

I've got a degree in automotive body technology and those definitely are the spot weld burns for the little studs to be pulled by a slide hammer. This method is much, much cleaner and preferrred over drilling holes and using a screw with the slide hammer.

So to the original poster: don't worry about those weld spots. Perfectly normal repairs.

had my s10s rocker and front bottom corner of my bed repaired that way
the door and fender were replaced with used ones

WTF averted

Why does everyone always say that like it's uncommon? That's how it should always be.

looks like its right on the body line, suprised they fixed it and didnt replace the door.

See, that's what I mean. It shouldn't be a big deal at all.

I'm starting to think that if a some you saw me at work, you would think I was magical or something:D
