Oh I have seen complete VW bus on top of a dodge van the same way.
I wish I had a camera but I am sure if you search enough you will find it.

There used to be a 70's Ford F-350 crew cab locally that had a cut down 60's Econoline van parked in the bed someone used for a camper!..it was quite the weird looking rig, they left the vans windsheild intact and carved away part of the nose and doors so it wouls sit up over the truck cab, like some large slde in campers...it had all windows in the van,and the whole thing was painted a bronze metallic..

There was a 1967 Dodge A-100 flat nosed van running around here that had a truck cap like the one on this Blazer bolted to the roof to,they chopped a matching hole in the van roof so you could stand up in it...

I like the cool paint job! Two tone on one side.....solid on the other. Wonder if he just got tired after painting one side or it just got hit on one side??
