80mph in the fast lane and KABOOM! It was quite the ride over to the shoulder. Ripped the fender trim off and mangled it a bit.

I guess I’ve been living right. Time to spend some coin on new tires. I can’t trust the others at this point. Not much indication other than some vibration I thought might be driveshaft related.

Yeah, that wakes you up!! I had a left rear blow on I-80 in Wyoming on my Dad's old '72, with a small trailer on. Was getting passed by a semi when it went!
Glad that you are all good!

12th week of 09. I’ve seen signs of light cracking but nothing I’ve been super nervous about blowing out. I’ve definitely ridden with worse. It was inflated to 34psi. I checked them all today because I had a 180 mile round trip after sitting for five days.

The scary part is I have my girls in here at highwaybsoeed on the reg.

Ouch. Been there, done that. More times than I wanna admit (should have learned the first time, eh?). I'm pretty picky about cracked tires now.

Yeah, me too. Pretty thankful for it as well. I imagine it helped to keep the bus from getting too squirrelly making it across all four lanes. This ordeal also made me realize that I need to add a bottle jack to the gear. The high lift with semi trucks whizzing by added to the fun.

I'd rather ride on a rim than stop on an interstate and attempt to change a flat nowadays..\

The last blowout I had was on my '79 C-10 Bonanza long ago,I was taking my sister home 70 miles away, got almost to the exit we had to take when I heard the truck make a weird noise,it was the tire going flat, soon as I slowed down,it blew the sidewall out..

I did pull over into the breakdown lane, got out and looked at the tire,it was the passenger side rear..was about to attempt to jack it up,but discovered my bottle jack leaked after it had tipped over behind the seat..
Then a few tractor trailers blew by me inches away, going 70+ mph,I decided to get back in the truck, and drive 2 miles on the flat, in the breakdown lane with the 4 way flashers on to our exit ..at a blazing 5 mph, while cars and trucks flew by blowing their horns....

I got to the exit, then went another 1/2 mile in the "wrong" direction to get to a convenience store, and I bought a quart of motor oil and filled the jack up..then changed the tire in the rear of the parking lot.
Much to my surprise the rim,a old school slotted mag,was still intact, the tire was shredded and folded up in a lumpy mess ..
I thought sure it'd be scrap..

After I put the spare on I decided to open the hood and check the oil,I figured it might need a quart, and was going to dump the oil left over from filling the jack up in the engine...and there on the passenger side fender, was the OEM jack, all bolted in place like the day it left the factory..:doah:..completely forgot it was there..

Hahahaha!

This is exactly something that I would do. I spent at least a minute today looking for a tool that was right on the workbench next to my project.

Wait till you get older....

I've found wrenches that vanished while working on my truck later that evening, when I opened the fridge to get a cold drink, there was the missing wrench,on the top shelf, next to the milk..o_0..

I had gone in the house earlier in the day to pee, then make a sandwich..
Evidently the wrench was in my hand when I came in,and I let go of it to pick up the cold drink..:doah:.

I've also found tools I spent half an hour searching for,in my pants pocket when I was emptying them out just before bed!..

Or you find them FAR away from where you were working, and don't even recall walking NEAR that area...sometimes I swear gremlins are about when this happens..(n)

This gets especially frustrating when your in a hurry, and the only tool that'll work decides to take a walk..like your only 15mm socket, and you have only ONE.and nothing else in the tool chest will work..:mad2:.
