As I said, they come in 3's! Puking front output shaft seal, the TBI running issues, and now this! The truck must know it has someone looking after it now so its making me a list...... :doah:I fixed one thing yesterday, and 3 things showed up, or at least let themselves to be know a little more loudly.

700R4. has supposedly a B&M shift kit, and about 30K on it since the last "rebuild" whatever that entailed. This is coming from the previous owner.

I had a problem about 6 months ago with a slip in what seemed the top of second gear (shift into third?) for the first 1/8th mile cold if I didn't let the truck run for about a minuet in the driveway. I adjusted the TV cable and snapped it a few times to "unstick" the valve as I read, it seemed to help. I drive the truck pretty easy, and its been sitting for a few months until I took it to the shop yesterday to do the brakes. Well, now I get a really bad slip shifting into 3rd until the truck is full warm after a few miles. First and second are great, full power, good shift. If I keep it in D or manually 1,2,D it, when it goes into 3rd, it revs and slips. I back out of it and it catches. After a few miles its fine. So am I looking at a trans rebuild? Or can I drop the pan, adjust the band, check a few things and put a fresh filter and fluid in it, or is it just time and money wasted at this point? I know its wishful thinking, but I know nothing about these boxes other then what I have read on the net, which means nothing! If I have to yank it and rebuild it, so be it. I can get the kit and goodies and between my domestic hotrod buddies, one of them will have a friend who can help, but If I can get another year out of it with some tweaks, that would be better....

Anyone? Bueller?

What about converting it to a manual trans? Can I use the NP208 or do I need to find another t-case? How is a stick for wheeling?
