Being that it is sitting outside and directly on the ground, it'd better be reasonable as hell on price. Because you know you're going to have to tear it all down unless you know for a fact how long it's been there and what shape they are in. Good luck!
if they are not rusted solid and the gears are good, then I would pay that.
go over and pop the cover. find out the ratio, see if you can get the drums to spin. pull the axle shafts and see if the bearings are wet or rusted.
If at least one of them is a 4.56 ratio I would hand the guy the money and not ask any questions. if they are both 3.73 I would only take them if everything was right.
