I was going though some cast off parts in the garage and came across what might be a helpful tip. When a friend of mine and I SAS'd his 95 we used the D44 from an 80-ish Jeep J10. Since the yard just cut off the front of the frame for us we ended up with a bunch of extra stuff-one thing being the steering box. On a hunch I popped the sector shaft out today and it looks exactly the same as one from a 2wd Chevy.

I know its normally not a big deal to find the Chevy one, but if you break it on the trail (seen it happen) here's another source to look for parts. As for me, this one is going into my spares box.

Hope this hepls someone. I'll take a pic of a Chevy and the Jeep one side by side later this w/e.

I finally remember to up load this pic. On a side note the 80 J10 that the middle shaft came from uses 1104 pitman arm, as well as the commonly referenced F150.
