I was less than 2 weeks away from making my first Bash and then :doah:
This last weekend our water heater tank developed a leak and soaked all the lower drywall in our utility room and pooled into the kitchen floor. Nobody in town had the correct water heater and we were without hot water until Monday. Little did I know that LP gas heaters for modular homes cost about $300 more than other LP gas heaters.

I was just about to finish the SYE kit on the T-case and order a new driveshaft this week... needless to say, that ain't happening. I also need my front rotors turned and some other minor maintenance items that the budget is blown on now.

So, you all have fun and I will live vicariously through your pictures and stories. I will be approximately 75 miles due east of y'all working away at home :doah:

Maybe next time :dunno:

That sucks

FYI I would look at just buying Rotors. I'm finding that new rotors are only like $10 more than turning them.

Eric blazenzuk just learned that lesson a couple of months ago too.
Sorry.
I replaced mine last year for $389 50gal.
Regular home no special equipment.

Come ride with someone for a day! At least come down for some dinner friday night. It's better than becoming a total 14er.

Yep drive the car down, or the farm truck, take in the BBQ, and either ride shotgun with someone or go play in the national parks. Its still a blast no matter what.

BFE on Friday you can watch some of the mayhem and its kind of a hang around type of day. Kids would have fun at the park on Friday at the BBQ also.

But if you can't I understand and have been there before. My bomber ford explorer has been to blazer bash twice when things didn't work out as planned.

I have a friend at a local shop in town that specialize in heavy trucks and equipment, they told they would only charge me $20 per rotor if I pull them. It's hard to beat that, they will just have to wait a few months though. Plus my D60 is out of a 40,000 mile cucv so there is still plenty of thickness left, just a bit wobbly on light braking.

We considered going anyway and hopping in with someone in a nice red 1st gen  but I think we will stay home and take in some extra training horses and lessons to help pay for things around here. We were going to have the kiddo at the grandparents anyway, who knows, maybe we will still take off and camp somewhere near by for a night since we are kid free for a few days.

If something changes in the next week, I'll hit someone up for a ride.

The other downside to coming is that I can guarantee seeing all the cool trucks and trails in Moab will not encourage you to refrain from spending money on the truck.

I definitely wish I could join up with you guys, but the curve ball that I got in the last couple of weeks changed plans for us. Right now my rig sits in the drive just a few hundred bucks from being trail ready and all that money is in a water heater and home repairs :doah:

I even thought about taking our other vehicle up to Whitewater just to wave at you guys as you pass but that would probably make it even more disappointing for me.

Oh well, I will just enjoy all the pictures again this year and cross my fingers for next year.

So, as everybody was heading out to enjoy their time in Moab I was able to get some stuff sold to pay for our home repairs and a bit of left over cash to get my rig going again. I sold our 1951 Ferguson TO-30 tractor a spare disc and blade that have been sitting around our place for too long.

It wasn't soon enough to join y'all but still some weight off our finances. I was able to rush a new driveshaft to mount up to the newly installed SYE'd 241. My wife and I went up to the family cabin on Sunday and Monday and took the Blazer for a test run on Pearl Pass. So I still got some wheeling in, just not with the rest of y'all.

I still have some warped front rotors and fluids to change, but at least I got some last minute wheeling in before the snow really starts flying.

I'm really enjoying the pics that you are posting. Fingers crossed for next year.

Well at least you have a year to get ready now. :deal:
