another Chalet

Is it just me or does it look like the truck/frame is bent behind the cab?? And $2,150.00? Or $1800 at the lowest? Not in that condition...

I'd like to put one of these on the 91 K5. Had a chance at one awhile back. It needed alot of work. I think a lot of them do at this point. If the price was right / it was closer, this would be fun project that the whole family could enjoy. Oh, wait, there's no rear seat belts :eek1:.

Do you mean in this particular truck or in the Blazer Chalet in general? Because the Chalet was equipped with seat belts on all the seats, including the folding ones in the camper.

Saw it in the ad for one. So, maybe it was just that one in particular.

this one is in bad, bad condition...
Serial number 0248, built in 7/76. Too bad about its condition, this one is sorta unique among all the '76s I've seen. The body accent color continues onto the camper, as does the matching stainless steel trim. Looks to be a factory thing (maybe) since the serial number plate is riveted lower down than normal, it otherwise would be located right where the trim stops at the back door.

A prior owner might have customized it this way, too.

Plus, every Chalet & Casa Grande would have had seat belts in their dinettes in the back, but when I think offhand about my former one, I only remember one per dinette seat... seatbelt seating for only four, in other words, the back ones being only sideways lapbelts. Basic conclusion would be it is not a good idea to crash in one of these.

Restoration is putting it mildly. That truck has engine problems, body problems, and the interior is shot. All that equals a lot of time and money. You'd probably spend double what you could get a decent driver chalet for just to bring it up to snuff.

But that is in reference to the ebay one in post #1, which, as I said above, is unique among all the '76s I've seen. The latest one Chief Brody is linking to is serial #0099, built 5/76, is at the opposite end of the spectrum, not especially unique looking but is otherwise probably one of the restorations out there coming closest to being in showroom new condition. The seller is one of our Chalet forum members and the vehicle is an older restoration, but he had to do quite a bit to properly fix the rust issues it had in the cab floor. At around $11 grand, I think he would be breaking even for his purchase price and the additional work done to it.

I think it's just the door sagging. The trip line in the fender and the rear seem to match up.
