I never really looked much at the 69-72 K series trucks, but I have to admit they are my favorites. What do you guys think about the pricing for a project like this?

For sure it looks like a TON of work, and he doesn't even say much about the rust. I wonder how the floor looks in the cab?

They don't put salt on the roads out there, so the rust shouldn't be too bad.

It isn't really too far from me, so I'd be half tempted to ask him for a few more photos and if the rust isn't too bad throw him an offer.

The body looks pretty straight from what I can tell...

Uh oh... Texted him and he's still got it! Gawd, my wife would kill me if I bought this ole beater!!

there is some pretty decent rust on the drivers side and the top looks baked pretty bad. I'd want a good look at the rocker boxes and windshield frame at least before I got too excited.

Yea, these are some of the things I'd noticed too. I guess if the rust is really minimal and could be fixed with some decent bodywork I'd be game. Can't say as I'd really be interested in welding in new floors and hacking up most of what's there just to fix it - that's the last iron I need added to my fire too!

So I got a hold of the P.O. and it turns out the body will have a quite a significant amount of bodywork required. The rocker boxes are not in good shape. Also the left rear quarter panel needs a lot of dent pulling and rework of a hack job of bodywork. The windshield frame is in good shape though. He's a body man by trade so I think he'd resolved to fix it up on his own as time permitted but got to busy so now he wants to sell it.

Though there's quite a few "good" things, the truck would need almost everything to get it back in shape cosmetically. Sounds like a bit more than I am willing to bite off at this point!

Oh - and forgot to add that the motor, transmission and transfer case are just basically laying within the frame rails and not even attached - he said they should basically be considered as cores for safety sake.

An "inexpensive" 1st Gen is one of the most expensive trucks you will ever buy.....

The rust you can see is like the iceberg. There's a whole lot more beneath the surface.
