This Chalet is awesome and very unique. It may not be a chick magnet, but it is the perfect hunting or camping rig.

And here's another innovative product from DPI. A swing out stinger tire carrier.

The tire carrier is fully adustable for different tire sizes. The tire actually sits on a adjustable foot that can be lowered or raised depending on the diameter of the tire. The entire weight of the tire sits on the foot. The stinger/wheel mount is adjustable as well using a stinger/receiver setup and is lockable.

That looks awsome! Especially with the od/black paint. But please show more pics and give info on that grill. Is that something you made or bought somewhere? That looks amazing.

Awesome bumpers and that grill setup is badass.

Wish I had a chalet K5...that would be a super fun rig.

damn, that grill IS badazz. Oh yeah the rest looks good too. Got any pics of the inside of the camper?

jus checked the link, their grills only go to 73-80 oh well.

They make them now for 81-87 as well, but they don't look quite as good imo

That grill looks really really good with the bumper. Really nice work man.

OI wonder how the grill would look tied into the tube work of a narrowed front end.... It would solve alot of the those questions about "what do I do with my front end?"

that tire carrier is nice piece. Are you going to start selling those as a new product, or is it a custom kind of thing??

I want to make a rear tube bumper almost exactly like that for my truck, but I have no clue how I'd go about mounting it, or how to put clevis on it??

All of our work is custom fabrication. We do not have a standard set of bumpers, we only "mass produce" sliders. If you can think it up or have an idea we can very likely build it for you. And very likely for less $ than mass produced bumpers.

Dan's the man. Designed them, built them, installed them, then helped me load up my no shifting, reverseless, cutting out rig last night in this freezing ass cold. I gave them a once over in the daylight when I got it back to my shop today, it's definitely nice work. One of the best parts is, I just told him the basics that I hadn't been looking at doing for a while, and he took it from there.

The strange thing is that I wanted them to keep my truck from taking such a beating in the brush, now I'm scared to take it offroad cause it's so darn pretty.:D

Bah! You better get out there and put that baby to use!

You can get one, just depends on how much you want to spend and how much work you want to do. I know of 3 shell-only Chalets and 8 other complete units out there for sale, plus another 6 where I'm not too sure of their sale/sold status. PM me for the two lists if you want 'em.

Check out: http://blazerchalet.com/photos.html for pics of the standard Chalet, but Chalet2506's has been redone, maybe he can share those photos. I used to have a functioning link to his photos elsewhere on the 'net, but it doesn't work anymore.

He is a member of our Chalet owners' forum here http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/ChevyK5BlazerChalets/ non-members can't see the photos or messages because that's the way Yahoo forums work. Free sign-up, though, open to enthusiasts of these mangy old campers, 27 of our 61 members own either a Chalet or a GMC Jimmy Casa Grande.

I'm a hopeless addict of these things, dremu might know a little bit of how that feels.....
