THe 8th photo is a "Bonanza"...never saw one...it's the black truck

The door plates caught my eye...they look new...must have been stainless...

Those 69-70 outer grilles are worth at least $500 apiece....

If I lived close to that yard I'd be grabbing every one of them and putting them in my garage.

everythings worth a fortune unless I am selling it :doah:

Wow, those 69-70s are really nice looking.....only from afar I'm sure. If possible, try and roll those windows up if you go out there again. Save whatever you can :D

Also, holy crap!! The EPA, or whatever nazi organization, doesn't make them pave the grounds or put rock in? Everything around here is either paved, pebbled, or hard dirt.

Is this yard close to Atlanta, Georgia? I need some of those sheetmetal parts. Looks like they are better than the ones i have on now.

That looks like a fun yard. I could spend all day there! Also looks like there would be a lot of critters there.

Great pics!

Yeah..I've seen snakes...usually just the tail end as they are running away...usually just fear the water mocassins, they are aggressive here and will chase you

You holding out on me, Brody? Where?

It'd be a haul from B'ham, but I go to Nashville occasionally to see family. Might have to add a waypoint.

I asked them today if there were ANY more yards that they knew of...they said no..."us and Pitts are it". That would be Pitts Auto Salvage in Athens, Alabama and the other is off Highway 53 in the Bethel community...not sure they even have a sign. Pitts is down to about 3 squarebody trucks from a high of about 20 just three years ago. The other place is a metal scrapping yard and you keep having to check with them often because the yard rotates quickly. It's far enough away that I dont get up there often...still, he used to have a whole section of 1970s trucks and they are all gone now...
Probably not worth the trip unless you got real lucky and was there when a squarebody got hauled in on a trailer...
sad really...wish I had been looking about 10 years ago...no telling how much stuff there was then...

Yeah, I hate that. Traditional junkyards are a thing of the past for the most part. At the rate they're crushing em, my complete/finished truck may actually be worth something some day. All I have to do now is complete/finish mine.

Man, wish I could go grab all those emblems! The yards around here are seeing less and less square bodies.

The yards around here are all quick turn over yards now. :( Really kinda sucks trying to find older stuff these days.

I could, but they aren't cheap and it takes a long time to remove them without damaging them
