Brought to my attention my driveshaft is to long. Would post a picture but I guess my membership expired. Slip joint rear driveshaft on 79 k5 205 to 12 bolt. My splines stick out the seal about 3/16.
If this is incorrect what's the cheapest way to fix it.

Buddy's truck is the same. So think it's fine, splines could be in a little for full contact. Should compress a little when loaded tho.
Bought the truck this way and I'm still sorting through it.

FWIW my fixed yoke 205 on a 77 long bed, splines only slip about 3/4”

The rear driveshaft really doesn't see a whole lot of in and out movement, with the pumpkin being centered, and the arc that the axle covers is pretty small on a leaf sprung rig, especially so if you're on stock, or close to stock springs. As opposed to a front axle on coils with a massive amount of travel, that's where several inches of driveshaft slip is needed.

Not if the link geometry is designed right
