You will also need to change the spindles as the inner bearing on that hub is larger than your current hubs use.
 
Yep, wheel bearings/spindles are different as well. You can use a 3/4 ton bearing hub up to ~'75-'76 with the external lockouts and keep the same spindles and wheel bearings at least.

Cool. SO, I will either get the hubs from a '75-'76 or can I get the hubs and spindles from a '77-mid '80ish too and replace the bearins and seals? Both ways I should be good, right? If so, thanks for the insight fellas.:D

Basically if you go to the newer 3/4 ton hubs with internal lockouts, plan on replacing backing plates, bearing hubs, spindles, stub shafts and bearings as a minimum.

If you go to the older style hubs with external lockouts, backing plates, bearing hubs and lockouts are the minimum.
